Per il secondo anno torna a offrire le sue conferenze in inglese Joseph Quinn, Nothing But Talk.
Questa attività intende promuovere un approccio più motivante alla lingua straniera, che permetta agli studenti di confrontarsi con esperti madrelingua a partire dal quarto anno di studi, in un contesto comunicativo al di fuori della classica lezione in classe.
La novità di quest'anno è stata che una quarta ITIS, la 4CEN, ha partecipato con successo a questa attività, di regola riservata al Liceo delle Scienze Applicate. Gli argomenti trattati quest'anno sono stati Dracula di Bram Stoker per le quarte e James Joyce per le quinte.
Nothing but talk is a series of talks offered at Scuola Superiore level with the aim of stimulating and developing students' interest in the topics proposed. The talks are essentially an extension of the teacher's work in the classroom, and are designed to provide the students with a positive experience in following a live unscripted spoken discourse on a topic with relevance to their studies.
Points in the talks are illustrated with photographs, charts, maps, songs, film and text.
